Hall of Mirrors

by Cross Wires

/

about

On Sunday 27th September Cross Wires went in to their rehearsal room with a plan to write a track from scratch in the morning then record it in the afternoon on their friends portable mixing desk. The resulting track would then be sent to the bands producer Rory Attwell for him to mix and master. Hall of Mirrors is the result of this experiment. The first in a planned series of tracks to be written and recorded in this way.

lyrics

EVERYTHING IN TEMPORARY.
I FIND COMFORT IN THAT THOUGHT.
BUT YOUR MIND WAS ALWAYS BUZZING FLICKERING BLACK AND BLUE.
YOU ASKED IF I COULD MAKE IT BETTER BUT I NEVER IMPROVE ANYTHING.
EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY TURNS TO DUST AGAIN.

IN EVERY DREAM I'VE HAD FOR THE PAST MONTH NOW. I'VE BEEN LOST IN A HALL OF MIRRORS IN YOUR OLD HOUSE. AND THERE'S A FIRE I CAN'T PUT OUT. IT MUST BE THE GUILT STILL EATING ME.

EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY. A FLEETING LOVE NO LESS REAL. YOUR HEART IT WAS ALWAYS RACING. BEAUTIFUL BUT GREW IMPATIENT.DON'T KNOW WHY YOU EVER WANTED ME. I SEEM TO MAKE A MESS OF EVERY LITTLE THING. EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY TURNS TO DUST AGAIN.

I'M JUST A MAN
ANOTHER MAN.
